The greatest heavyweight of all time is returning to mixed martial arts

Big boys beware... Fedor is back and we don't know what to expect.

Some newer fans of mixed martial arts may not be aware of the name but you should do some Youtubing because Fedor Emelianenko is up there alongside Anderson Silva and GSP in terms of greatest fighters of all time. The Russian, who is approaching his 39th birthday, has confirmed that he has returned to training with a view to competing once more in MMA.

Emelianenko went 34-4, 1NC in a career spanning 12 years which saw him earn 10 knockouts and 16 submissions before he retired in 2012. The one blemish on Emelianenko's legacy is that he never competed in the UFC after negotiations between promotion and fighter broke down and it's not yet known where his destination will be upon return. https://youtu.be/kcnKR34kq_0 The Last Emperor has a long-standing relationship with Bellator president Scott Coker, having fought for him in Strikeforce so a deal with the UFC's biggest competitor would not be surprising. Other promotions who will likely be hunting for Emelianenko's signature include M1 Global and ONE Championship but can you imagine a rematch between Fedor and current UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC 200?
