Lamas never stood a chance

Chad Mendes didn't take very long to get his title ambitions at featherweight back on track tonight at UFC Fight Night 63 with a devastating TKO of Ricardo Lamas. The fighter, who's taken a fair few pot-shots at Conor McGregor ahead of his title showdown with Jose Aldo, used power strikes to bring his opponent to the ground before the first round was stopped less than three minutes into the action. The main event was eagerly awaited as Mendes has twice failed to come up to mark when trying to dethrone Jose Aldo at featherweight.
