Surprise, surprise! McGregor has predicted that he will put Jose Aldo away early

The Irish UFC superstar is due to take on the reigning champion in the main event at UFC 189 in July. Should McGregor defeat the Brazilian, he will become not only the first Irish UFC champion, but the first European belt title holder in the history of the promotion. Aldo has been a dominant champion in the UFC. He is the only featherweight champion in the history of the promotion and is undefeated at that weight class. His only defeat was in a lightweight contest back in 2005. However, McGregor sees Aldo as extremely beatable and that he holds the key to handing him his first ever defeat at 145 lbs, ad bringing that coveted belt to Ireland.

I'm going to sprint straight for him and I'm not going to give him a second. I'm going to go in with my hands raised. I'm going to be talking to him while I'm whooping him, at the same time. The same way I do the them all.

McGregor is notorious (not apologising for that one) for his elite striking and fluid movement inside the Octagon. The Dubliner implied that Aldo has been such a dominant champion because he has consistently been matched up against wrestlers, which suit his fighting style. McGregor believes that Aldo will struggle against a taller opponent who is proficient in stand up.

I feel Aldo has made a career out of fighting short, stocky wrestlers who are not good on their feet and are more intimidated on the feet and they shoot from half way across the cage.

I'm going to go in and I'm going to break him. I'm going to be on top of him from the bell. I will break Jose Aldo.

The Notorious then gave his prediction for how the fight will end and unsurprisingly, he doesn't see Aldo lasting too long in the bout.

I think around the fourth minute mark of the first round I will knock him out.
