We can start writing another page in the Jose Aldo/Conor McGregor book as the world got a new interim featherweight champion on Saturday night. Seven months removed from a devastating knockout at the left hand of 'The Notorious', Aldo put on a showcase against Frankie Edgar in a rematch of their 2013 meeting. Opposite Edgar, the Brazilian displayed all the traits that made him the most feared man at 145 lbs - pinpoint accuracy, faultless takedown defence and a striking armoury that enabled him to bust up the facial structures of all who he met. Aldo claimed a unanimous decision on the UFC 200 main card and truly never allowed 'The Answer' into the contest. McGregor is currently slated to take on Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 202, at welterweight, but it's expected that he will then return to 145 lbs to defend his championship in the rematch of a 13-second title tilt from last December.
