WATCH: The Irish certainly left their mark on the UFC 189 weigh-ins

There have quite literally been dozens of UFC events that didn't register the interest that the UFC 189 weigh-ins did.

While there were a good few neutrals there and a small percentage of Mendes fans, the vast majority in attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena were there to see one man. Conor McGregor has attained the celebrity status unlike many to have stepped into the octagon and his travelling Irish support were there for all to hear and see. An estimated 2,500 tickets were sold to Irish fans for UFC 189 and, by the sounds of it, each of them found another Irish buddy to bring along with them to the weigh-ins.
