Brian O’Driscoll says that the laws of rugby are fine, but referees are a problem

BOD Almighty has spoken while in Hong Kong for the famous Sevens tournament

Now a man of leisure Brian O'Driscoll is making use of his free time by visiting Hong Kong to enjoy his first ever Hong Kong Sevens tournament. The annual jamboree of free-flowing rugby has been on the go since 1976 and the 2015 event kicks off on Friday and runs through to Sunday. Of course, when collared by the media the subject of the Six Nations came up, and the contrast between the final round of games and the far more conservative previous games. Some, like Steve Hansen, had suggeested the laws of the game needed to be altered to encourage more positive play but one of the all time greats didn't agree. "I'm against changing it [the laws]," he says to Rugby365. "Part of the issue is that there's different interpretations between the hemispheres. "Be it north or south, referees look at things slightly differently and rule things differently. All the players want is consistency." As for that gripping final day, BOD went through the mill as much as the rest of us. "England being able to push Ireland as close as they did, and even Ireland going and scoring 40 points at Murrayfield off the back of a huge result for Wales in Italy, you couldn't script that. It was real edge-of-the-seat stuff. "Other than the last weekend it wasn't the best Six Nations, but what it did do is remind us in the Northern Hemisphere what we are capable of doing. "To see three games of that strength in depth and that magnitude, I would imagine that some of the Southern Hemisphere teams looked on and paid some attention." We certainly hope so Brian.
