While a price increase is to be expected in any city that's hosting a sporting event, the Trivago Hotel Price Index (tHPI) for October 2015 has noted a startling increase in the cost of a hotel room in Cardiff on the eve of Ireland's quarter-final with Argentina.
According to their figures, prices have soared by 960% in the Welsh capital for this weekend’s match.
The website also discovered that the average cost of staying in a hotel on Saturday 17 October, the night before Ireland’s clash with Argentina, will cost you a whopping £1,232 (€1663 pprox).
No wonder so many people are happy to sleep in hostels, trains or the boat.
