Former Springboks player, Cornal Hendricks, has passed away at the age of 37.
The winger, who occasionally togged out at centre, played 12 times for South Africa, including in a 2014 loss to Ireland at the Aviva Stadium, scoring five tries across those games.
He played Super Rugby for the Cheetahs and the Bulls, and in the URC and Champions Cup with the latter, before retiring last year.
He also represented the South Africa sevens team, winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Bulls paid tribute to the player on social media: "The Vodacom Bulls are deeply saddened by the passing of Cornal Hendricks, aged 37.
"A 12-time capped Springbok and key player for the Vodacom Bulls from 2018 to 2023, Cornal was known for his passion, energy, and infectious smile both on and off the field.
"CEO Edgar Rathbone called him a cherished teammate and inspirational figure, while rugby director Jake White praised his resilience and influence, especially after overcoming an early career setback.
"Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life. Rest in peace".
