IRFU provide update on Cian Healy following worrying knock

It looks like Cian Healy will be fighting fit for St Patrick's Day.

Cian Healy didn't look in great shape at one stage during Ireland's Six Nations clincher against Scotland. The Leinster prop went down hard on the pitch and required medical attention during the game. However, he was getting checked out directly in the line of Scottish fire. As the ball came across the field, the doctor was forced to make a swift exit out of danger. The dazed and clearly hurt Healy soldiered on like a warrior to rejoin the defensive effort. However, a lot of people found his gameness a little disturbing to watch. Not as bad as it looked

On Monday, the IRFU provided an injury update on Healy. Fortunately, the news is positive. He suffered a knock to the shoulder that wasn't as bad as it initially looked. So he will be training as per normal this week.

"Cian Healy suffered a stinger-like injury to the shoulder/trapezius area. He experienced some discomfort on the field and received the appropriate treatment. Cian will train fully this week."

Healy being fit will provide a huge boost to Ireland on their quest to claim the Grand Slam. Standing in their way is England, who will be doing everything in their power to not slump to three defeats on the trot.
