Next time anyone calls Ireland boring, show them this brilliant Ronan O’Gara put-down

What the hell do people want?

You can't swing a cat in any sport without someone harping on about the entertainment aspect of it. Teams are trying to win. Joe Schmidt is trying to win. This isn't some parade. It's competition and the Kiwi would be out of a job if he didn't deliver results. Ronan O'Gara is a coach himself and he sees exactly what it is Ireland are doing and he can appreciate it. He sure as hell doesn't have much time for talk of the team being boring. And, ahead of the clash in Wales, the Munster legend shut that kind of chat down ruthlessly.

"I kind of don't understand you in terms of the boring side of it," O'Gara said on RTÉ. "I think it's incredibly smart.  "In terms of how efficient Ireland are, in terms of how accurate Ireland are, they do not let teams get into games. I think they are so good around the ruck."

He also alluded to the 'budding partnership' between Garry Ringrose and Robbie Henshaw. A new partnership. A young one. One with bags of potential.

"Fast forward three years time when they've got 30 or 40 caps together, then they can play a bit of ball. But right now you've got to manage them."
