Retiring from sport must be very hard for anyone who was used to the life as a professional.

But as a pro then you were expected to put your life and limb on the line every time you crossed the whitewash. We've seen far too many Irish rugby players call it a day over the last 12 months with the loss of Kevin McLaughlin to Leinster and Ireland especially mourned. The former provincial captain w=quit the sport earlier this year on medical advice after receiving too many concussions in his career.
