Pictures: Lions take their minds off abysmal performance against Barbarians with interesting day trip

By all accounts, the Lions performance against the Barbarians was poor by their own standards.

Warren Gatland's men came out winners by 13-7. A lot of players came under heavy criticism, Johnny Sexton was poor, as too was Stuart Hogg and Greig Laidlaw had a performance to forget. But that's behind them now and they will face the stern test of the Blues on Wednesday and to get away from Saturday's underwhelming display, they visited the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The grounds is where the signing of the first accord between the Maori people and the British Crown took place and the Lions were invited to visit. As captain, Sam Warburton had to accept the Maori challenge. Some of the players posed for photos. The whole thing was an interesting spectacle. And the whole squad were out in force. Oh, and Warren Gatland's son Bryn made an appearance after playing for the Barbarians on Saturday. Fair play to him.
