Crowley will be hoping to make this summer's Lions tour, but there is significant competition for the ten position with Finn Russell, Marcus Smith, Fin Smith, and Sam Prendergast all vying for a spot.

There is less competition for the scrum-half slot, but Casey is at a disadvantage, given that he missed the recent Six Nations through injury.

However, prior to his meniscus problem, which started in December, he was one of Munster's best performers, and in his comeback game against Connacht yesterday, he picked up where he left off with an excellent display.

On Premier Sports, former Munster and Ireland winger/fullback, Simon Zebo, backed the scrum-half to make Andy Farrell's Lions squad.

He said: "His combination with Craig paid off and, in the end, Craig gave him a beautiful assist. These are the things you need to do while you're playing away, putting the pressure on.

"Craig here, this is the pass of the match. This is frightening ability. Craig, for me, that performance, he's probably in with a shot of going with the Lions to Australia.

"Both the half-backs were outstanding today. Without them, Connacht may well have pinched that away from Munster."
