VIDEO: The IRFU won’t be happy with this tempting offer to Irish players from New Zealand

January is a time for change.

Get fit, lose weight, get a new job can all be top of the list of many people. But if you think you might be handy with an oval ball and would like to pack down in New Zealand then you may have spotted something over Christmas to catch your eye. It seems that the the country's most successful rugby team, the Crusaders, are looking for rugby players from these parts to join their high-performance set-up with the subtle hint that if you do well enough you may become an All-Black. The 30 second ad was spotted by eagle eyed Garrett Kelly early in the New Year on Setanta, as it tries to show the best of life in Christchurch. The ad explains that anyone interested can 'work, train and play while on your New Zealand Crusade' while a website operated by the club explains more of what is involved

"2016 will see the International High Performance program offering a "Work, Train and Play" option. One of Christchurchs'  leading recruitment companies Canstaff, has partnered with the Crusaders IHPU to offer a unique program that allows players to work and be part of a high performance training program." "Details will be announced soon, but players from different countries will be able to combine specialised training with a unique Kiwi experience under the guidance of the Crusaders franchise. Start dates will be from February 2016."

We doubt the World Champions are expecting any top Irish professionals to pack their bags and head to the other side of the world, but it is interesting to see how other countries view talent here and if any players at local or regional level will be tempted to make the move.
