Alexis Sanchez slams report claiming he won a bet on Jose Mourinho to be sacked

Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has rubbished a report suggesting that he won a £20,000 bet with teammate Marcos Rojo over whether manager Jose Mourinho would be sacked.

Sanchez has endured a rough time on the pitch since moving to Manchester earlier this year with the Chilean scoring just three goals in 22 league games for the club. The former Arsenal star struggled to hold down a place under Mourinho but he refutes the story that he made a personal bet in the manager's demise. https://twitter.com/Alexis_Sanchez/status/1076132893095804928 According to Neil Custis and Richard Moriarty of The Sun, Sanchez allegedly reveled in the Portuguese manager's departure and apparently told the Manchester United player's group that he was owed £20,000 by Rojo. The Sun alleges that Sanchez sent the message from Chile but the player is adamant that the story is false and took to his Twitter account to relay his enthusiasm to rejoin the team under new manager Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer. The Norwegian was announced on Thursday as United's caretaker until the end of the season and he said in his first interview with MUTV that he bases a lot of what he tries to do in management on what he learned from Alex Ferguson during his playing days at Old Trafford.

"Biggest club in the world, best club in the world, best supporters in the world, we’ve got the best players in the world. "It’s about man management, getting the best out of everyone. I had the best teacher (Sir Alex). Loads of my management revolves around what I learned from him. He’s been the biggest influence."
