Andy Robertson rewards Liverpool fan’s selfless act by sending signed Firmino jersey

Goodwill on Merseyside is not in short supply for Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.

The Scottish defender has been a hit since joining from Hull City during the summer, filling what had become a problem area for the team and doing so with an intensity and intelligence which quickly won over supporters. It's not just on the pitch where Robertson is proving a hit though, with a recent act of kindness showing just how quickly he is becoming a part of the community around the club. Having seen heard the story of Alfie Radford, a young Liverpool fan who selflessly used his pocket money to buy food to donate to a local food bank, Robertson decided to show his gratitude in the form of a letter, as well as a signed Roberto Firmino home jersey. https://www.instagram.com/p/BgB5xJDleaD/?taken-by=tomradford0 In the letter, which was posted on social media by a relative of the Alfie, Robertson praised him for his kindness and willingness to think of those less fortunate than himself.

"I remember from being your age just how important pocket money is and how there's hundreds of things you could have bought for yourself with it," the letter begins. "For you to give that up for people who are having a tough time and need some help to get by is absolutely amazing. Let me tell you now, that is brilliant from you and sets an example to the rest of us that showing a little care and thought for others is really important - it's also very Liverpool!"
