Anthony Martial’s centre-back brother has been more prolific than him this season

After an impressive debut season at Old Trafford, Anthony Martial is finding things a whole lot tougher under new Manchester United manager José Mourinho.

The French forward has just six goals to his name this season, and just two in the league, with a worse goals-per-minute ratio than his older brother Johan. And those leaping to Anthony's defence can't even cite the fact that he's spent a lot of time on the wing under Mourinho, as Johan is a central defender. The 25-year-old, who plays for Troyes in France's Ligue 2, has three goals in 12 appearances compared to Martial jr's six in 24 for club and country. And his double in tonight's 4-0 victory over Strasbourg, a result which lifted Troyes into the automatic promotion places, saw him become officially more prolific than his little brother, according to French football specialist Robin Bairner. https://twitter.com/rbairner/status/829078581213007872 The figures, for those interested, appear to relate to league games only. But that doesn't make it much better, all things considered. For starters, as far as we can tell it was the first time Johan has scored twice in the same match in his entire professional career. Indeed, in more than 70 games for previous club Stade Brest he only got his name on the scoresheet twice in total. It's not the most telling of stats, but it's a nice one to bring up to your mates who are United supporters in the pub this week. And that's what's really important, right?
