And what better way to break this hoodoo than to do it in the most dramatic way possible? Jonathan Kodjia was very fortunate to grab the opener for the visitors, which came courtesy of a massive deflection off Tyler Blackett on the 38-minute mark. However, Aly Cissokho's foul on Reading's Gareth McCleary in the second half gave the referee no option but to point to the penalty spot. Danny Williams was unable to convert it, but Yann Kermorgant smashed it in on the rebound. With the clock winding down, the Villains were presented with a golden opportunity when Jordan Ayew was brought down inside the box in the 90th minute. He refused to cave under the pressure and coolly slotted the ball into the net to end Villa's 438-day away drought and hand them their first win at home or away in 10 games.
