David De Gea has signed a new four-year contract with Manchester United which will keep the goalkeeper at Old Trafford until 2019 at the earliest. The Spaniard was the subject of the longest-running transfer saga of the summer with Real Madrid toying with the idea of bringing De Gea to the Bernabeu. De Gea hasn't featured for United yet this season as Louis van Gaal has started Sergio Romero in goal, feeling that De Gea wasn't focused enough on the football.
