Celtic have announced that they're donating the proceeds from the club's charity match with Dunfermline this weekend to help those affected by the current refugee crisis. Celtic announced the news in a statement on the club's website, saying that all their share of the proceeds from the Jock Stein 30th Anniversary Charity Match between Celtic Legends and Dunfermline on Sunday would go to an international aid agency. They have cited the club's beginnings as one of the main reasons to donate the money to the people in need. Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: "Having seen the effects of this humanitarian crisis unfold in recent days, we felt as a club we should help in any way we can." "None of us can understand the true horrors of this situation but as a club we wanted to show our support for those affected." Celtic's announcement follows the news of Bayern Munich's plans to set up footballing academies and other ventures to help aid the plight of refugees.
