Chris Kamara reportedly set to depart Sky Sports after 23 years

Chris Kamara is reportedly set to leave Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday at the end of the Premier League season. The Daily Mail reports that the 64-year-old has 'seen the writing on the wall' with the impending departure of long-term Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling at the end of the current campaign. Kamara - otherwise known as 'Kammy,' stuck up a close friendship with Stelling and is widely known for the praise; "Unbelievable Jeff!"

Kamara has been working for Sky since 1999 and has built up a cult following. It's believed that the former Leeds United midfielder, 64, has been keeping his cards close to his chest as he doesn't want to steal the thunder from Stelling. He is a likeable character amongst Sky's audience because of his humorous reporting style. The one-liners Kamara has provided throughout the years will not be forgotten amongst Sky footballing fandom. His interview with Jay-Jay Okocha in 2003 will always bring a laugh. A spokesperson from Sky said they had no plans to part company with Kamara, so it remains to be seen if the pundit will walk away from his role. He has yet to comment on the reports.

Sky Sports parted ways with former Soccer Saturday pundits Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas and Matt Le Tissier in 2020, and the show is set to undergo more changes in the summer with the exit of Stelling. If Karama decides to also leave, it will be the end of an era for the long-running show.
