Clause in Mo Salah’s contract saw him rewarded back in February

One would struggle to think of a more impactful debut season than that which Mohamed Salah is currently enjoying at Liverpool.

Salah started his Reds career like a man with a point to prove and it's no wonder that the former Roma winger was so eager get amongst the goals at Anfield as new information has been revealed about a bonus structure that Salah had agreed with Liverpool. A new book from Football Leaks has brought to light a specific clause in his contract which saw Salah claim a whopping £2.5 million bonus when he managed to reach 35 goals and assists combined, a feat which the 25-year-old accomplished all the way back in February. Salah, who is on a weekly salary of £123,030, needed just six months to reach the season goal set to him by the club after he arrived from Roma for a fee of £36.9 million, a figure which Liverpool owner John W. Henry initially feared was too high. The Egyptian international wasted no time in proving that he was a bargain and earned himself a tidy sum with his ability to score and set up goals. Given Salah's contribution to Jurgen Klopp's side this season, he has been linked with a big-money move to the likes of Real Madrid but, after collecting his Football Writers' Association Player of the Year award on Thursday night, he pledged his allegiance to the Reds.

"I'm very happy here, everything is fine," Salah said. "Of course I have got ambitions for the future with Liverpool. As you can see we had a great season, now we are in the Champions League final and everyone is excited. "It is just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some other players. It is just the beginning."
