Daniel Sturridge could miss the first three months of next season

The English striker's injury woes look set to bleed well into next season, meaning Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers must target at least two strikers over the summer. Sturridge underwent surgery on his injured hip, on Monday. The strengthening and recovery process is expected to take up to four months, meaning it may be October by the time he returns for the Reds. Other news outlets are reporting a November return. Bryan Kelly, the orthopaedic surgeon that carried out the procedure, is hopeful that the hip repairs can, in future, prevent the thigh, calf and, of course, hip problems that have plagued Sturridge.
