David Moyes has returned to an old favourite as he continues Sunderland strengthening

David Moyes definitely seems to be taking the reunion route with his Sunderland signings.

The new Black Cats manager is making up for lost time in the transfer market after his predecessor, Sam Allardyce, was in negotiations for the England job at the start of the window. Since arriving Moyes has brought in Adnan Januzaj on a season-long loan from Manchester United after making no secret of the fact that he was a huge fan of the Belgian winger that he awarded a professional debut to in 2013. He's also raided his former club for promising defenders Donald Love and Paddy McNair, who have signed permanent deals at the Stadium of Light as well as Chelsea outcast Papy Djilobodji. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/761699585139970048 But it's an experienced player he has looked to for his most recent acquisition as, on Friday, Moyes signed former Everton winger Steven Pienaar until the end of the season. The 34-year-old was released by the Toffees at the end of last season, bringing an end to his second spell at Goodison Park. In total, Pienaar made 229 appearances for Everton and his Premier League know-how is understood to be the reason that Moyes has decided to bring him in as he aims to keep Sunderland afloat in the top flight. The former South Africa international will wear the No. 20 shirt on Wearside after undergoing a successful trial with the club.
