Lovren has refused to apologise

Dejan Lovren has refused to apologise after he and Marcelo Brozovic were filmed singing a Nazi-collabortators' fascist anthem, equated to 'Sieg heil'. Both players were spotted making, what appeared to be, gun gestures when at Croatia's welcoming party after arriving back from the World Cup. Corriere della Sera in Italy have reported that the music in the song is a well-known Nazi fascist song 'Za Dom Spremni', or 'Ready for the Homeland' which was sung by the Ustaše movement during the Second World War. 'They hate everything that is Croatia'

Smajo Bešo, a lecturer and researcher at Newcastle University, tweeted: 'This is former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren & Inter Milan player Marcelo Brozovic singing "Za Dom Spremni" (For homeland - ready). Dejan Lovren has responded to the criticism reported by 24sata, refusing to apologise for any offence caused.

"A handful of wretched, miserable and jealous people, they hate everything that is Croatian. Actually, they hate themselves first," he said. "They were disgusted last night when I sang "Are you beautiful" in front of the whole of Croatia. I don't understand how they work in Croatia?"

Lovren and Brozovic can also been seen wearing team clothing with a giant Croatia flag in the background in the video and the former Liverpool defender, now of Zenit St. Petersburg, appears to lift his hand in the air at the same time as Brozovic, however it's unclear if he makes a gun sign.
