Roy Keane made headlines last week after publicly slagging off the wife of Manchester United boss Michael Carrick.
Back in 2014, Keane labelled an interview and performance from the former United player as flat after a 2-0 loss to Olympiacos, which provoked his spouse Lisa into hitting back on Twitter.
She wrote: "Roy Keane what a **** says anything to provoke a reaction... That's all... Done."
Keane had not forgotten the comments over ten years later and last week said: "Well his wife can always come in, because she's got a bit of a big mouth sometimes.
"Wow what? She's probably doing the team talk."
Keane's comments sparked criticism, with many calling him out for holding such a long grudge.
Now it is the turn of Eamon Dunphy - a frequent defender of the Ireland legend over the years - to have his say.
In his column with the Irish Mirror, he eviscerated the former United and Ireland captain: "Roy Keane greeted Michael Carrick’s moment by having a go at Carrick’s wife, Lisa. Keane is becoming an embarrassment — to football, to himself, and perhaps to Ireland.
"But it is not right — ever — to attack a woman in a high-profile situation like this. It is cheap. It is lazy. I feel ashamed for football, and for Ireland.
"Keane, meanwhile, is doing adverts where he insults people for money, becoming a parody of the figure he once was."
