Even at 37-years-old, Robbie Keane still works harder than most of us in the gym

Robbie Keane may not be the greatest Irish player of all time, he mightn't even be the greatest Keane to play for Ireland but he is second on both lists probably. Since he bowed out for the Boys in Green against Oman last year a lot of fans are guilty of not fully appreciating what we had until it was gone. Keane is a goalscorer, nothing more and nothing less, conjuring something out of nothing and always finding himself in situations where he can just tap the ball in, makes it look easy really. But father time catches up on all of us, it was time for Ireland's top goalscorer to bow out, let the younger generation have their chance. The former Tottenham and Liverpool forward is no in the final stages of his career and will now ply his trade in India after recently signing for Atletico de Kolkata. It'd be easy for a man that has played Premier League football for most of his career to take things easy now, enjoy the Indian lifestyle but no, not Robbie Keane, he works for his wages. Posting on his Instagram story, Keane shows that he is hard at work before heading over to India.   (All videos via: Robbie Keane Instagram) It's no surprise that Ireland's record goalscorer has got so far in his footballing career with this work ethic, even when he didn't have a club Keane was still leading by example when training with League of Ireland club Shamrock Rovers. “He’s still in every day, training like a 17-year-old,” Shamrock Rovers' manager Stephen Bradley said of Keane during the summer. “He’s first on the pitch and last off it. "He's great with the lads as I said and that hasn't changed one bit, if anything he's got better because he's doing more coaching and has got more comfortable around the group and they've got more comfortable around him."
