Former Irish underage international is ripping it up in the Eredivisie

Former Ireland underage international Dan Crowley is rediscovering some of his best form in the Eredivisie this season with Willem II.

Crowley notched his fifth assist of the season in Willem's 2-0 win over AZ Alkmaar on Saturday as he continues to impress since returning from his loan spell at Cambuur last season, the same club which formerly took on Jack Byrne. https://twitter.com/ShelleyOzzy/status/1068974040675745794 Crowley, an underage international with both the Republic of Ireland and England, moved to Holland from Arsenal last summer after three years with the club's academy. After bouncing around England's lower leagues with Barnsley and Oxford United, he joined the Go Ahead Eagles in 2016 before moving on to Cambuur and Willem II. Crowley told the Herald in September that he still has ambitions to play international football and that his dream is to represent Ireland.

"I have played for England and Ireland but my preference is to play for Ireland," said Crowley. "I want to play for Ireland. Of course I’d love to speak to Martin O’Neill but when nothing is happening it’s hard to talk about it so there’s not a lot I can do, bar playing well for my club in Holland, but my dream is to one day play on the big stage for Ireland."

Hopefully new Ireland manager Mick McCarthy is taking note.
