Former Liverpool manager reckons that Raheem Sterling’s move is a “done deal”

While the Premier League season is off, we may aswell enjoy a separate competition - whose transfer saga can last the longest? David de Gea's or Raheem Sterling's?

Well Raheem Sterling's could be soon be over according to former Liverpool manager Roy Evans. The Reds winger has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City and, most shockingly, Manchester United. And Evans, who managed Liverpool between 1994 and 1998, believes that Liverpool's big spending in recent weeks points to Sterling's departure growing ever closer. James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Adam Bogdan have already entered the Anfield fold this summer and Evans told talkSPORT that he's led to believe that Sterling's move away has already been sorted.

“I don’t think they would be spending the amount of money they have if they didn’t feel Raheem Sterling was already a done deal to somewhere. “If you look at the transfer market and the way it has been with the amount of players Liverpool have bought, I think that it must be in the equation. “I like the idea that they’re trying to do business early rather than wait until the end of the transfer window.”

While we'd tend to agree with Evans about Sterling saying goodbye to Merseyside life soon, we reckon it's still safe to say that Manchester United is his least likely destination.
