Ex-England player Paul Ince has been charged by Cheshire Police with a drink driving offence.
The police force say they were called to Chester High Road in Neston at 5pm yesterday, per Sky News.
"The incident involved a black Range Rover which had collided with the central reservation barrier," a statement reads.
"Officers attended the scene and arrested a 57-year-old man.
"Paul Ince, of Quarry Road, Neston, has since been charged with drink driving."
Ince has been bailed and will attend Chester Magistrates' Court on 18 July.
Paul Ince was one of the most successful English players of the 1990s. He began his career in the West Ham United academy before going on to play for English giants Manchester United and Liverpool as well as Italian side Inter Milan.
Ince won the Premier League twice, and the European Cup Winners Cup in 1991, all with Manchester United.
In 1993 he made history as the first black player to captain the England side, in a match against the USA.
Since retiring in 2007, Ince has has worked as a manager for Macclesfield, Blackburn Rovers, and most recently Reading — who he led from 2022 to 2023.
As MK Dons manager Ince won the Football League Trophy on the way to finishing top of League 2 in the 2007/2008 season.
