Gareth Bale ‘offered to’ Madrid-based Getafe after leaving Real Madrid

Getafe will 'consider and study' the possibility.

Gareth Bale has been 'offered' to LaLiga outfit Getafe after leaving Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to the club's president. The 32-year-old is available on a free transfer having left Real Madrid after nine years with Los Blancos, where he registered 106 goals and 67 assists in 258 appearances during his time at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, the Welshman has now been linked with a move to Getafe, with the club's president stating on Wednesday. "I spoke with the player's agent this morning. He has been offered to us. We will consider it. I am going to have to speak to the technical staff." It is thought that Bale is tempted to remain in Spain until the November World Cup in Qatar, and a move to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium - which is situated about 20 minutes from where Bale lives - would likely be a smooth transition for the former Tottenham Hotspur man. https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1534486345359450114

Cardiff City are also thought to be 'stepping up their efforts' to pull off the improbable signing of the Wales captain in the coming weeks, with Bluebirds chairman Mehmet Dalman flying into the United Kingdom to lead negotiations with Bale's camp.

It is thought that Cardiff - the city where Bale was born - are hopeful that he will make the unlikely move to the Principality Stadium, the winger's contract demands could prove to be an issue.

Retirement has also been mooted as a possibility for the attacker, however,  given that he helped steer Wales to the World Cup after a 1-0 win over Ukraine in the play-off final, he will certainly be putting those plans on hold.
