Granit Xhaka’s claim about Bayern Munich and Arsenal is genuinely funny

Granit Xhaka has made a bold claim about Arsenal and Bayern Munich, a topic you'd imagine he'd try avoid speaking about for a while. Xhaka played in both 5-1 defeats to Bayern in the Champions League last-16 round, and didn't exactly cover himself in glory. No Arsenal player did, as the team surrendered twice to the German champions, but Xhaka was particularly poor. This ludicrous attempt at a tackle cost Arsenal a goal and summed-up the Swiss midfielder's performance in both legs. However, Xhaka has managed to do something even more ridiculous than that with these comments. The Arsenal midfielder seems to have suggested that Arsenal are as good as Bayern Munich. "I feel so [Arsenal are as good as Bayern]. And I am annoyed by the defeats mainly because I have good memories of Bavaria," the 24-year-old told Swiss publication Blick.

"We were able to beat the Munich team three times with Gladbach. And I do not think Gladbach is on par with Arsenal. So..."

So, according to Xhaka, Arsenal are as good as the team that beat them 10-2 over two legs. If you say so, Granit.
