Harry Redknapp linked with sensational return to management with Leeds United

Harry Redknapp could make a shock return to management after telling Leeds United that he would be open to taking charge until the end of the season. Leeds sacked Jesse Marsch earlier this month and have struggled to find a replacement with their top targets: West Brom's Carlos Corberan, Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot all turning down the vacant role. The Yorkshire club lie 17th in the Premier League and after Neil Warnock's return to the dugout was confirmed on Monday, taking over at Huddersfield Town, Redknapp is keen on doing something similar, as revealed by The Mirror. Redknapp hasn't managed since 2017 but has a wealth of experience, winning the FA Cup with Portsmouth and getting Tottenham to qualify for the Champions League while nurturing Gareth Bale into one of the world's best players. Caretaker boss Michael Skubala has overseen both of Leeds' games against Manchester United and will remain in the role for the upcoming fixtures against Everton and Southampton this month. A statement from Leeds said: "Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala will continue to lead the men's first team for the club's upcoming fixtures. Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will carry on supporting Michael, alongside the backroom team already in place. "Skubala, Gallardo and Armas have overseen two positive performances over the last week against Manchester United and will lead training ahead of this weekend's Premier League game against Everton at Goodison Park." Speaking on his time in charge, Skubala said: "I have really enjoyed the experience and the team and staff have responded well. I know I speak for Paco and Chris when I say that it is an honour to be on the touchline at this club. "We will continue to work tirelessly to help to push on up the table in the short term, whilst the board focus on the long-term future of the team." Related links:
