Heartbroken Juanfran pens classy letter to Atletico Madrid fans after penalty miss

Juanfran appreciates the support he received from Atletico fans.

The Atletico Madrid defender missed from the spot during the Champions League final penalty shoot-out against Real Madrid on Saturday. Juanfran struck his penalty well but hit the post, enabling Cristiano Ronaldo to step up and slot away the decisive kick. The Spanish defender approached the Atletico end after the game to effectively beg fans for forgiveness, however the entire end rose to applaud the player. https://twitter.com/kenearlys/status/736673007972798464?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Juanfran clearly appreciated the gesture and the 31-year-old has thanked the Atletico fans via the club's Instagram page, and swore to right the wrong of Saturday's final and win the Champions League.
