Iran international goalkeeper banned for six months for wearing Spongebob Squarepants trousers

They wouldn't tolerate this sort of behaviour in Iran anyway. Well, not yellow trousers at least. Three-times capped goalkeeper Sosha Makani has been suspended for six months for wearing what has been described as Spongebob Squarepants trousers. The 29-year-old who plays for Persepolis in the Iran Pro League has been charged with "innapropriate conduct" according to the ISNA news agency. https://twitter.com/BBCSport/status/740648576494272513 Before a game, Makani was pictured donning the adventurous leg-wear and was cited for it by the football federation's morality committee. The country has strict clothing laws and, although the player has a right to appeal, they are clamping down hard on his outlandish style.
