Shane Duffy and Norwich are in a spot of bother at the moment, sitting in 22nd place in the Championship.
Yesterday's 1-0 defeat to Derby was their fourth league loss in a row, and leaves them two points from the bottom of the table.
Duffy has fallen out of favour with Ireland and has not featured since last year's 2-1 win over Hungary in June.
Following the loss to Derby, Canary fans vented their frustrations on social media, with Duffy responding in turn.
Above Norwich's official full-time post, Duffy wrote: "Ok I'm annoyed. I get it, I actually get it.
"The abuse towards me I understand it! I promise you one thing this is heat [sic] changing room I've been involved in."
After a fan had a go at manager Liam Manning, Duffy said: "Your a k**b btw and I know your mates."
The defender then went on to call him a "gimp".
Norwich supporters continued to wind Duffy up, with one fan saying, "put the bottle away Shane son", and another writing, "Someone had a beer?? Make sure you leave the car at home this time."
This is a reference to the incident Duffy was involved in last year, which saw him banned from driving and fined £25,000 after crashing his Range Rover while drunk.
