Ivory Coast win African Cup of Nations after dramatic penalty shoot-out

The Ivory Coast have won the African Cup of Nations following a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

The west African country beat Ghana 9-8 on penalties, after trailing 0-2 in the early stages of the shoot-out. Boubacar Barry, the Ivorian goalkeeper, was the hero, converting the decisive penalty after his Ghanian counterpart had missed his kick. The game itself was a complete stinker, goalless after 120 minutes and featured a combined total of 53 fouls. Definitely not for the purists, but the exciting penalty shoot-out made-up for it.
