Jerzy Dudek’s claims about Jose Mourinho’s ‘rat’ hunt confirmed by another Real Madrid goalkeeper

The revelations made by former Liverpool and Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek do not seem so fantastical, now that one of the main anecdotes has been confirmed by another spurned stopper. As we reported on Monday, Jose Mourinho, who was then coaching Real, burst into his team's dressing room after a 1-1 draw with Barcelona, in 2011, and went on an extraordinary rant about there being a "rat" in the squad. A cynic may have suggested that Dudek was looking to shift a few units by making the most from a dressing room spat. However, his story has been backed up by Antonio Adan, who was at the club from 2004 to 2013. Now minding the nets for Real Betis, Adan told COPE, 'Dudek's version is actually tame. The coach stormed into the changing room in a mad rage and kicked a bottle. He went completely nuts. He started asking each one of us who the rat was.' Mourinho then reached Iker Casillas and, when he asked if he was a rat. That moment, many feel, created a chasm between the coach and Casillas, a long-time favourite of the Madridistas. Adan commented, 'He just kept his mouth shut and didn’t say anything, like the rest of us. The atmosphere in the changing room was never quite the same after that.'
