Irishman Jim Goodwin announced as new Aberdeen manager

'To manage one of the biggest clubs in Scotland is a dream come true.'

Jim Goodwin makes the move to Aberdeen from St. Mirren where he replaces the outgoing Stephen Glass. The 40-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Pittodrie. The Irishman had managed St. Mirren since 2019 where he managed to establish The Buddies as a Scottish Premiership outfit. Aberdeen currently sits 8th in the Scottish Premier League as they look to secure European football for next season. They are currently three points off 4th place Hibernian.

The opening of Aberdeen's new training ground was an added incentive for Goodwin.
