John Terry has named his long-term replacement at the heart of the Chelsea back four

The Chelsea academy product has been tipped for greatness by Blues legend John Terry, whose time at Stamford Bridge is slowly winding down. Terry will go down as one of Chelsea's greatest ever players, having graduated through the youth set-up and making his debut for the senior team in 1998. And the central defender, who has claimed that his time with the club will come to an end this summer, has backed another academy player to eventually fill his shoes in the Blues back four. Terry told the Evening Standard that 18-year-old defender Jake Clarke-Salter, who made his first team debut as a substitute against Aston Villa this month, has the quality to replace him in the heart of the Chelsea defence. “Jake has a great attitude," Terry said. "I remember watching him a couple of years ago being in control of the game and a really vocal player. He reminds me a bit of myself. “He is doing great and I hope he goes on to take my position and get in the first team. It was great for him to make his debut. "I was disappointed I wasn’t there to support him because I missed the game [through injury]. But watching it from home, I was delighted.”
