Jurgen Klopp doesn’t recognise former Man City defender in awkward interview

"I'm not sure if you played football."

Former Man City player Nedum Onuoha and his ESPN colleagues were in stitches when it was clear that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp didn't recognise him. The German native questioned the interviewers knowledge of the game after he had asked him a question and responded by saying: "I'm not sure if you played football...". The interview was conducted after Liverpool drew 2-2 with Wolves in the FA Cup. This means that the game will have to go to a replay, something that Klopp doesn't want. The Anfield hero has been critical in recent weeks about the scheduling of games, and how fixtures are so close together. Klopp has a long list of injuries at the moment, and he does not want any reason to add to that list which include the likes of Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota and most recently Virgil van Dijk.

'If he was in a good mood I probably would have said something back,' he said on ESPNFC. 'But he wasn't in a good mood at all. And I thought for my first time interviewing someone so significant in world football, if I bit back it might just turn into some sort of argument.'
