Leigh Griffiths has only heard of one of Rangers’ new signings

Rangers have been busy in the transfer market.

Manager Pedro Caixinha has already brought in eight fresh faces to his squad as he aims to improve on their third-place finish from last season and bridge the gap with arch-rivals Celtic which was 39 points by the end-of-term tally. Rangers wasted no time in recruiting new talent but Hoops striker Leigh Griffiths is not really impressed with their spending. The forward has claimed that he has only heard of one of Gers' new signings. "Bruno Alves is a good solid defender and is playing in the Confederations Cup with Portugal. He’ll be a good addition," Griffiths told the Scottish Sun. "I can’t say the same for the rest of them because I’ve never heard of them. We’ll soon see how quickly they adapt to the Scottish game and if they can, then good luck to them." While Griffiths had kind words to say about the Portuguese veteran, he had nothing of the sort for Rangers chairman Dave King, who recently suggested that Celtic had squandered the opportunity to pull further ahead of their rivals in the battle to be the best club in Scotland. "Rangers were touted to win the league at the start of last season — and they finished third," Griffiths said of King's claim. "They had Joey Barton saying he was going to be the best player in the league and he lasted a few months. Then he vanished back down the road. "We carried out our business professionally and respectfully and at the end of the season, we reaped the rewards with an unbeaten domestic Treble. "Thirty-odd points is mad and if you said to somebody at the start of last season that Rangers would finish that far behind, they’d be raging."
