Liverpool apparently have three of Europe’s top 20 most valuable young players

The good men and women behind the 'Soccerex 20 U21 Report' that's who. And they have good news for Liverpool fans, and maybe Manchester City fans too. They think that a certain England attacker is the best pound-for-pound young player in Europe and that he has two outstanding young teammates for company. They also think Liverpool have the 15th and 18th most valuable players in Europe at the moment, who were 20 or under on the 1st of January this year. Emre Can is listed at having a value of €17million, while the survey loses some of its credibility by including Divock Origi who's rated at approximately €15.4 million despite having a brutal season in France. Using the Football Value Index, which looks at various statistics including age, position, minutes played and technical quality, the survey suggests that Raheem Sterling is the most valuable young player playing in Europe. They estimate that the former QPR man, who wants a move away from Liverpool, is worth an approximate £35million. Considering the financial malarky in Greece, that may now equate to about €49million. The second most valuable player on the list PSG's Marquinhos [estimated worth €40m], with Memphis Depay rated third at a value of just under €35million. Manchester United's Luke Shaw makes the list, and is among nine Premier league players in total, but his value appears to have dropped significantly since Manchester United paid over €30million for him last season.
