Klopp identified the player as a transfer target last summer, and hasn't been put off by a late, unsuccessful attempt to sign him in August.
"An unsuccessful late move for Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic does not signal the end of Liverpool's interest," Barrett wrote.
"Under Klopp there is a willingness to play the long game for the right targets and there is also a refusal to pad the squad out with short term alternatives except in extreme circumstances. Whether the club can wrestle him away from Dortmund remains to be seen, but Klopp's interest in the player is unlikely to go away. The 18-year-old American international has impressed for Dortmund this season, making 16 appearances and registering five assists.
