Liverpool fans react with horror after Simon Mignolet gets new contract

Simon Mignolet might not be everyone's cup of tea.

But Liverpool fans are now having to face up to the fact that they'll be seeing a lot more of him at Anfield over the next few seasons. The former Sunderland goalkeeper, who signed for £9m, has inked a new five-year deal which will keep him on Merseyside until the end of the 2020-21 season. I am getting older as well and coming into the years where people would say those are the years a goalkeeper is at his best. "I will try to work hard together with the goalkeeping coach and staff here, who are behind me and have given their confidence with a new contract." But Reds fans will surely remember some of the clangers they've witnessed during his time at the club. They sure let their feelings be known on Twitter about the Belgian's new deal, tweeting Liverpool's official account. People thought it had to be a sick joke...
