We were not alone in thinking there was no way it was going to happen. Liverpool were 2-0 at the break after conceding two goals inside the opening nine minutes, and then going 3-1 down early in the second half. They needed three goals to rescue the tie. Speaking after the game, Liverpool's goal heroes Divock Origi and Dejan Lovren explained the simple, but emotional, message from the German.

"3-0 at half-time, and the coach said we had to create the moment, where we could tell our grandchildren and make it a special night for the fans and we believed in it I think. When we scored the first goal we all believed it was going to be a special moment."

Lovren chimed in and explained how the players felt at the break.

"We said at half-time, we have nothing to lose, we need just to believe so a great effort from everyone and we deserved to win.”
