Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez for £40m. The news was confirmed by David Ornstein early today with Fabrizio Romano tapping it in some moments later.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with the Hungarian international who will have his medical in the coming days. His contract will run for five years.
This deal had been rumoured to have been happening for a while, having reportedly agreed personal terms back in May. Kerkez had also alluded to a future Bournemouth departure with a cryptic Instagram post around the same time.
The 21-year-old was a key man for Cherries boss Andoni Iraola and helped the club to their joint-highest ever Premier League finish as Bournemouth finished ninth. Kerkez was ever-present for the side, starting all 38 league games.
The former Bournemouth player now becomes Liverpool boss Arne Slot's third summer signing. Kerkez's signing follows deals done for ex-Bayer Leverkusen players Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.
The confirmation of this move has reportedly made Liverpool now open for offers for their current long-serving left-back Andy Robertson. The 31-year-old has been linked recently with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, as Liverpool look ready to cash in on their Scotland international.
Fellow Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas also could be on his way out to Premier League sides Nottingham Forest or Leeds.
