The club's partnership with the charity is said to have raised £250,000 to date with another windfall expected after the Monday evening Premier League kick-off.
As well as playing with the logo on their jersey, the club will donate a number of items - signed jerseys, signed captain's armband from Jordan Henderson and and autographed pair of specs from Klopp himself. Following the announcement of the initiative, Klopp commented:
"As somebody who wears glasses I know just how important sight is to my career and livelihood. That’s why this issue is particularly important to me. I'm sure the generosity of our wonderful supporters will make the auctions a big success and help contribute toward the ambition of eliminating avoidable blindness by 2020."Depending on other Premier League results before the game, which will be screened on Sky Sports, Liverpool could go top by defeating United.
