Lord Bendtner is being released by Wolfsburg and no-one is on red alert

We all knew that Nicklas Bendtner would find his stride when he hit his peak at 28.

The former Arsenal superstar - self-proclaimed at least - is on his way out of Wolfsburg with the club looking to terminate his contract 15 months early. At the start of the season, the Danish wonder - self-proclaimed at least - shut us all up when he not only hit Bayern Munich with a last-minute equaliser in the Supercup, but went on to score the winning penalty and deliver silverware to his club. Well, almost eight months later, it seems that he's still celebrating. The success has gone to Bendtner's head who has been fined by Wolfsburg on several occasions already for different disciplinary lapses like showing up late to training. It's okay though, he had a decent excuse - he was sleeping. The striker - self-proclaimed at least - has been training on his own for the past two weeks but the club's sporting director, Klaus Allofs, says that they're hoping to reach a solution soon. And that solution is not to get him back on board. "We have attempted to hold talks with his advisers and have discussed a solution. I think that there will be a decision soon," Allofs told Bild. "We have decided that he does not have to come in for now. The fact that he has been training on his own recently was not something we wanted to carry on." After three league goals in 31 games, Lord Bendtner can rest easy that his misunderstood legacy is still in tact. Bendtner's five options now that he's about to become a free agent

1. Go to America. There's supposed to be some great sight-seeing activities there.
2. Finally get to work on his ambition to be the best in the world. Even if he already is two years past that target. "I want to be top scorer in the Premier League, top scorer at the World Cup and, within five years, I want to be among the best strikers in the world."
3. Trial with a Chinese club.
4. Do whatever Michael Johnson is doing nowadays.
5. Call Arsene Wenger.
