Louis van Gaal drops David de Gea bombshell ahead of Spurs game

Louis van Gaal has drawn a line in the stand over the David de Gea transfer saga. The Manchester United boss has dropped the Spanish goalkeeper from his squad to take on Tottenham in their Premier League opener. De Gea will not be considered, van Gaal added, as long as Real Madrid interest in him remains. He says de Gea is not able to focus on the job at hand while he remains in 'the transfer process' with Real. 'I can only watch and observe. I am not participating in it... it is difficult,' he commented. 'A player is also a human being and he cannot manage that [transfer speculation],' the United boss added. Van Gaal's confirmation about his No.1's dropping is in direct contradiction with the confident claims made by AS, only this morning, that the Spaniard would remain at United for 2015/16. The United boss will select either Sergio Romero or Sam Johnstone to start against Spurs, on Saturday. More to follow...
